Canada Place is like a convention center, hotel, and cruise ship terminal rolled into one. There are some decent restaurants here and close-by access to an underground shopping area with fast foods, etc. Also, this is the main access point for the hop-on-hop-off bus taking one around Vancouver and Stanley Park. Most of the more interesting stuff happens outdoors rather than indoors. You'll see a lot of people just hanging out here and taking pictures of the cruise ships or harbour.

By the way, the Pan Pacific Hotel is built into the complex and there are quite a few other hotels within walking distance. Also, you are close by the terminals for seaplanes taking off right there in the harbour.
