Don's Place

You can't miss Terry & Kathy's if you are driving through Defiance, Missouri. It's right there where Highway 94 makes a "Z" turn. This bar is very popular with the Harley-Davidson crowd on the weekends. You'll often see as many as 30 motorcycles parked. But that shouldn't put you off if you aren't a biker. I've visited here off-and-on for decades and have never seen any trouble (not to say it never happens). On the week days, its only the local crowd and they have inexpensive food specials.

This is a beer drinker's stop on the way to-or-from the wineries in the Augusta area. In the warmer weather, it has a large outdoor pavilion where you can enjoy a beer and hamburger to the sound of country music.

Terry & Kathy's is simply a landmark of the area. Even though this bird is a non-smoker, I enjoy the local atmosphere enough to brave the smoke. And, in warmer weather, there is always the outside. It is also located directly on the Katy Trail bike path so you'll also find some of the human power bikers stop in.
