Dog Prairie Tavern - A Piece of Small Town Americana
(Updated: October 16, 2021)
Rating

Dog Prairie Tavern is a small bar located in the small town of St. Paul, Missouri about five miles north of the city of O'Fallon in an area of St. Charles County that is still very much countryside.

Its been many years since my last visit and I was glad to be back. Dog Prairie Tavern is a piece of Americana in itself. It has seen better days but it has the feel of a small town bar (which it is) even as the suburbs of St. Louis keep moving out in its direction.

Although we were obviously outsiders, our female bartender was nice and customers smiled to us or said "hi." We happened to be there when a group was partying. Country music ranging from Hank Williams to current CW singers was belting out from the jukebox and many of the female patrons were up and dancing.

Dog Prairie Tavern has a small fenced-in outdoor area street side that is akin to a backyard with a few picnic tables.
