Review Detail

Proletariat is a nice breath of fresh air in the East Village. They have an expertly crafted beer menu, a far cry from the cheap beer & shot destinations of the surrounding neighborhood, and incredibly knowledgeable bartenders. It's a small joint, so I'd recommend stopping in early in the evening if you want to find a seat at the tiny bar. The limited-seating and cramped quarters are my only negatives about this place, but still worth the visit. Don't be shy, get a few bartender suggestions, they really know their stuff and are happy to help you navigate the esoteric beer menu. Total beer geek heaven.

P.S. Proletariat is cash only, but there's an ATM at Dumpling Man a few doors down.
