Review Detail

Whalen's is a large bar conveniently located close to UMSL. It's a great place for drinking on the cheap and relaxing a bit. There are two pool tables, a bar, jukebox, and lots of table seating. Every bartender I've met has been really nice. Whalen's isn't a fancy place, but it is a comfortable place to talk with good friends. The women's restroom is in disrepair, but it has always been extremely clean. I think Whalen's is a great alternative for anyone in the area. it's location is convenient for people in the neighborhood and students in the area.

Non-smokers beware- smoking is allowed! However, it's not too bad as the air circulates a lot.
