Interesting fortress island south of Corregidor

I'm not sure if any of the tour boats from Manila deviate enough to include a cruise by Fort Drum which was constructed on El Fraile Island a few miles south of the island of Corregidor. You cannot land on the island fortress anyway. But, in my case, while staying in the Ternate area, a group of us chartered a cabin cruiser to Corregidor which took us right by Fort Drum.
Although the fort did not play a significant role during World War II, it is of historical interest to see this fortress which helped protect Corregidor during the invasion by the Japanese. Fort Drum has been compared to a concrete battleship due to its concrete construction (350 feet long and 144 feet wide) and its twin 14-inch gun batteries located at the entrance to Manila Bay.
