Due to it's historical significance, a visit to Corregidor Island was one of the highlights of my time escorting tour groups throughout Asia. Most people take a tour boat from Manila. But a group of us once chartered a cabin cruiser from Ternate to visit Corregidor.

We had a private guide who took us around the island. We walked through the tunnel where General Wainwright held out until the American surrender to the Japanese. You also see the "Mile Long Barracks" which are in ruins still showing it's war damage, gun batteries, a view across to the Bataan Peninsula, and much more. If you have an interest in the history of the war in the Pacific during World War II, a tour of Corregidor Island is a must.
