Enjoyable ferry ride to/from Grafton, Illinois

I've enjoyed the Grafton Ferry ride from north St. Charles County over to Grafton, Illinois which is developing into a mini-tourism town with it's growing marina, restaurants, and bars. The ride takes about 12 minutes and currently costs $8 one-way for a car or $15 round trip. If you purchase the round trip fare, they give you a card the size of a credit card that you can redeem on your next crossing. We were told that the cards do not expire. The current price for motorcycles is $5 one-way or $9 for a roundtrip fare.

You must turn off your engine after parking aboard the ferry. Most people get out of their cars to enjoy the river views and to take pictures. Keep in mind that if the river floods, the ferry does not operate. If someone knows of a contact phone number, please post it here so that people can get updates on the status of ferry operations and hours of operation.
