We were in the area and so we stopped in at the Sheldon Art Galleries which are located right next to the Sheldon Concert Hall which is just down the street from the Fox Theatre.

During our visit, there was a display of dresses worn by Hollywood starlets called "Glamour: Costumes and Images from the Collection of Mary Strauss." It was a somewhat interesting exhibit with dresses worn by some film and stage starlets (but not from their most famous movies). There were also autographed photos by movie stars adorning the walls and some video screens showing scenes from the movies where the dresses were worn.

I also enjoyed the "Lou Bopp: Portraits of the Blues" photo portrait collection of southern USA blues artists. Some of the large prints were excellent.

Frankly, I wasn't very impressed overall with the venue. There was virtually no natural lighting in the galleries which were somewhat dark and dated. We were advised that photography is not permitted.
