On a whim while driving downtown in Pacific, we stopped in at the Route 66 Pacific Railfan Center. Two people staffing the center invited us in. More than anything, the Railfan Center appears to be a small shop selling railway paraphernalia related to this area. However, there is also an operating model railway display which the two gentlemen were eager to show off.

However, what I found most interesting was a computer screen showing train movements in the area. And, you are located directly next to the railway tracks in Pacific that see over 80 train passings per day.

The Route 66 Pacific Railfan Center was not very interesting for me but I would guess that a bigger railfan might find it pleasant place for a short stop. Entrance is free.
