At 812 acres, Saint Stanislaus Conservation Area is one of the larger conservation areas in St. Louis County. Located in a rural area of Hazelwood on the Missouri River, you can reach the area by taking the Earth City Expressway north from I-70. The Missouri Department of Conservation website says: "It can be reached from Highway 370 by going northeast on Aubuchon Road about four miles."

We only found one entrance to the park (the MDC website indicates 2 entrances) and were surprised that it was simply a short macadam road with parking for only about 20 vehicles. Essentially, there is just a parking lot and no vehicle traffic is allowed into Saint Stanislaus Conservation Area at that point. Besides the parking lot, there were 2 hole-in-the-ground toilets and nothing more than a trailhead.

So if you wish to visit Saint Stanislaus Conservation Area from where we visited, it looks like you must do it on foot. Hopefully, someone who has hiked into the interior or has located the other entrance (where there might be a pavilion) can share some more information.
