Indian Camp Creek Park - A Work in Progress

Indian Camp Creek Park is located just north of Wentzville, Missouri on Dietrich Road, one mile west of Highway 61. It is a newer park and clearly "a work in progress." But don't let that scare you off.

Essentially, this was once a large farm consisting of both fields and woods. Much of the prior farmland is beginning to return to prairie. There is a road that roughly traces a circular route through the park. You'll see quite a few hiking paths crossing the route. There is also a pavilion and pond near the front of Indian Camp Creek Park. Back along the loop route through the park is a high area that looks like it is being developed as a small lookout area.

I've been to Indian Camp Creek Park twice (different years) and you can see the progress as the parks department makes improvements and nature takes its course. In time, this will be a very nice park. Right now it is in a somewhat "rough" looking stage of its development, but getting better all the time.

If you live in the area, be sure to check out Indian Camp Creek Park. I'm sure that young kids will enjoy the environment and it makes for a nice drive through the park just to see what it is all about.
