Unexpectedly Nice Restaurant on the South Side of Clarksville

We had already eaten dinner elsewhere so we just stopped in to the Clarksville Station Restaurant for some after dinner drinks at their bar early on a Saturday evening. We had heard many good things about this facility so we wanted to check it out for a possible future visit. We were not disappointed.

Clarksville Station Restaurant is a very nice facility both indoors and out. I imagine it is probably the best restaurant and outdoor patio area in this area of the country for many, many miles around. Besides a nice dining area, there are numerous seating areas outside in a garden/patio setting including an area nicely covered by Wisteria. There was also a large outdoor bar (closed on the warm evening of our visit) plus a fire pit area for the cooler times of the year. One hears the sound of water from fountains as you walk through the outdoors areas.

Since we didn't eat at Clarksville Station Restaurant, I can't say more about the restaurant than that the dining room was nice as was the person who greeted us at the entrance. There was a solo singer/guitarist entertaining the patrons with soft music.

The bar was separate of the dining room in what one might describe as a mixed area room consisting of a small bar counter, tables and chairs (I assume they double as overflow for the restaurant or simply as bar tables) plus a shop selling all kinds of nicknacks that the ladies might enjoy. The restooms were neat and clean.

Drinks at the Clarksville Station Restaurant bar were pricey. However, our bartender was a very nice female college student who was very courteous and friendly. We felt very welcomed by her and will definitely return some day for a meal.

If one looks at their meal prices online and takes into consideration the quality of the facility, one can see that the drink prices are certainly not out of line for this type of establishment. If you want to enjoy a nice day drive from St. Louis (or a stopover between STL and Hannibal) along the Mississippi River on Highway 79, Clarksville Station Restaurant is a place you should consider.
