Classiest Dump in Town, Oysters Galore
(Updated: March 20, 2012)

Broadway Oyster Bar is located on South Broadway, just south of Busch Stadium. In spite of its dilapidated looks, it is one of those places to which I like to take out-of-town visitors. It is so different from your typical St. Louis pub restaurant.

First, it serves Cajun food such as alligator, shrimp, crayfish, mussels, and oysters. Did I mention oysters? I really believe that they have the most extensive oyster selection in St. Louis. Plus, there are a variety of other Cajun foods and sandwiches.

Broadway Oyster Bar looks somewhat like a dump, but the kind of dump you'd find on the Gulf. That is part of their attraction. Their outdoor patio is fun in the summer when bands are playing. I personally avoid the crowds after a baseball game, but about any other time is just fine.

Broadway Oyster Bar is about the classiest dump in town. I just love it!
