This is a short 0.4 mi out and back trail from the parking lot at the base of Kraut Lake Dam to Dardenne Creek which originates just to the west of here at Brommelsiek Park. Kids will like it -- especially if they get to play along the stream.

I like the newer decor of this Burger King on Highway Z just south of Wentzville off I-70. We had eaten here about 2 years ago and things look pretty much the same. We took advantage of one of their "2-for" specials and found the restaurant to be pretty clean during our evening visit.

Veterans Tribute Park is a nice newer park with decent facilities, especially for young kids. However, there is not a lot of shade except on the boundaries of the park which are wooded. I did enjoy the garden area but the area for the children is smaller than other parks in the county.

This lake was very popular when we visited it in late August. We could see many people fishing and other people just walking over the small bridge. The lake had quite a few lotus plants along the shore.
